The Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Security, Generations and Consumer Protection awarded the NESTOR prize today for the third time. NESTOR is an Austrian competition conceived to pay tribute to companies which implement special internal schemes promoting older employees.
The Ing. Friedrich Bauer GmbH, from Kemmelbach, has been doing this for many years now. The engineering consultancy company, which specialises in environmental engineering and project support, has included countless strategies and schemes endorsing and supporting older employees in its personnel policy. And the company succeeded in convincing the jury with its concept, submitted by authorised representative Mrs. Maria Gindl. The Ing. Bauer GmbH, which was one of 77 submissions originating from all parts of Austria, was awarded third place in the small and medium-sized enterprises category. Federal Minister Mrs. Ursula Haubner presented the award to Mr. Friedrich Bauer, graduate engineer, and thanked him for his commitment. Mr. Bauer continually emphasises the importance of productive, co-operative team work between younger and older employees, both in terms of his own company and in other areas. Here, the management is required to create a balance between company culture and personnel policy, placing a consistent focus on challenges, motivation, communication and information.
